Ok guys I went to the track tonight for my first time tonight and did horrible
I got a 14.4 1/4

now this is my question
my car knocked really bad so I let off
it was 8.7degrees with 787 O2s
I was running about 47psi with the line off

my car has the following mods and services

rear main seal fixed
valve covers replaced and new gaskets
hooker exhaust
THDP test/dump
racetronix hotwire and fuel pump
all the gauges
scan master
RJC power plate
big neck intercooler
spring cleaning minus transmission change and rear end change
volt booster
big mouth intake
torque conveter lock up switch
adj fuel pressure regulator
thrasher 92 chip
pinion snubber
ramchargers boost controller
recalibrated speedo to 145mph
driverside header fixed

ok that is everything done
now here is my question
towards the end of the night I found out why it was knocking so bad
the boost was going up to 20psi for whatever reason
now if I run some race gas and xylene I would have run a faster time correct?
also I do have an adjustable wastegate at home should I put that in and adjust it to how many psi for pump? which way do I turn it too?
do these seem reasonable as too why I was knocking so bad?
what causes the boost to go that high also?

thank you very much and sorry for all the questions

Carl

Two things I would do.

Adjust your fuel pressure down to about 42 or 43 with the vaccum line off.

Check that the DP is not hitting the frame or the crossover. You can do this by hitting the side of the DP at the cat with the side of your fist. If it does not make any sound it sould be okay.

If you still get some knock greater than 6° add 1 gallon of xylene to 3 gallons of gas and then add about 4 oz of Marvel Mystery Oil or other similar lube, because xylene does not have any lubricate.

Do you have and engine tie-down? How are the motor mounts?

What tires are your running?

I have a tie down
no motor mounts yet

I have BFG radial TA tires
the ones that were on it already

Hold off on the lower fuel pressure, your O2's are correct so don't mess with the fuel pressure even if it is higher than normal for one of many reasons (probably the chip)

Check the lines from the wastegate to hte solenoid, bet they are dry rotted. It will allow a vacuum leak (actually its pressure) that will cause high boost. Simple fix is to plug the line to the solenoid right after the Y with a cap. that should drop your boost to really low levels (now you need the adjustable wastegate)
