I did look for this information on here, and didn't find it. Though I have a few odd questions that a few of you experts may know the answers to.
1. Some people say that shift kits save transmissions. I can't see how that is. Could someone explain this to me?
2. Is putting shift kits into rwd transmissions the same as wrong wheel drive transmissions?
3. Does anyone know of a decent, reliable, proven wrong wheel drive transmission shift kit?
4. Does increasing the line pressure electronically (I'm assuming this is how it's done) on these "sport mode"optioned cars wear anything down faster? I ask this because I have a '98 GS and I've had my shift firmness firmed up just a little bit when my "sport mode" button thingy is on, and while it shifts nice, I for some reason feel it's not all that good. Am I over thinkin' it? Is it better and more reliable to firm up shifting mechanically with a shift kit.

"Shift kits" (trademarked name) speed up the shift and try to eliminate heat buildup, which kills transmissions. Making them shift hard can hurt parts. You want the fastest shift possible under all throttle positions. Trouble is, most companies shim up the accumulators or eliminate them all together and just shift hard. A quality engineered kit with different spring rates is better than a kit with 2 shims or plugs anyday. I prefer the spring method and I have used quite a few different kits in the last 25 years and I am biased towards my kit but CK make a hell of a kit that is progressive with throttle opening. HTH.

I like that. Do you or CK make kits for the 4T65E-hd?
I have done a 4T65E for a Fiero project that a friend had going. Had a high hp 383 for it and that trans worked out great with the TransGo kit in it. I had not known that CK had a kit for one, otherwise, I would have tried it as well. And I don't make a kit for the 4T65E either. Not much call for them around here in performance application. I do what is still popular. :-)
