Anyways, Recently we put a new engine in my 88' Cutlass. It's a Olds 355 with some work done to it. Really not sure about how much power. Probably around 300-325hp. We also had the transmission rebuilt. The guy is one of my dad's friends but owns the transmission shop. Anyway he put his own shift kit, and valve body, Hardened input shaft, new clutches and gaskets in. The first time we ran the car it wouldn't make the 1-2 shift under WOT. Tried the TV cable and nothing helped. Took it to the guy, he replaced the 1-2 clutch I believe and set up the TV cable for us. Friday night I picked up the car again and took a couple of my friends for a ride. I got on it 3-4 times and it shifted fine into second. Saturday I just drove the car normally and it kinda seemed to slip a bit. Like shifting to 2nd at 23-24mph and not like 20-21mph. Sunday, I took another friend for a ride and it ran terrible. Would not make the 1-2 shift unless I let of the gas. Once your in second the car moves great, Makes the 2-3 shift no problem. I really am clueless on what is wrong with it. I know beating on it is not a good idea but it shouldn't break down after getting on it 3-4 times. If anyone has an idea on what it could be that would be great. Is there anyone around my area that knows what they are doing with these transmissions. Thanks
