Need some transmission schooling.

How do you adjust transmission shift points??? My car seems to wait to long to shift into 3rd gear. I noticed on light throttle it will sound as if it needs to shift. If i let go of the gas a little it will shift into 3rd. Should i be driving around with car in drive or OverDrive?

it seems your tv cable is overadjusted or someone installed a transgo 2/3 shift valve spring in the valve body.try readjusting the cable to a lower position and without loosing your low speed kickdowns,or get our 200 page manual and learn how to work on the trans by yourself.complete step by step rebuild,performance mods,governor and valve body tech as well as a lot of other tech info.
