Network connection on TV. What is it for?

Hate to start a new thread but this will just get lost in my other TV thread.
The TV I just bought has a LAN/Network connection on the back. I have it set up. I did the testing and is says the network is setup properly an working. But all the ads I have look at say it does not have Internet capability. So why would I connect it to my network? Samsung LN46C630

Usually you can gain access to netflicks, pandora, rhapsody and other services like that. Also enables you to update to the current firmware for the TV and some let you display weather and news.

I don't see any applications for netflix and any other browsing apps. Just looks like a LAN hookup. For what...I don't know.

didn't it come with a book that is full of intructions about how everything works and what everything does?

Yes, it comes with an instruction manual. I read it. Does not mention anything about anything other than connecting it to a network. If no netflix, no web browsing. Then what is it for?

That is so the government can monitor what you watch. Also they can activate the two way screen and observe what is going on in your living room when ever they want to spy on you. Big Brother is here.....






Oh, I'm sorry, this is not the political forum. You can ignore this comment. It's probably either a video adapter for using it as a monitor or just a standard chassis wiring option not used on your particular model.:wink:
