new 2004r acting funny

when i first got it in and going shifts were all positive and firm.
had some trouble with fluid spitting and the correct levels, now i've noticed the 1/2 shift starting to get mushy, then.....now it's revving way up before it shifts to 2nd. when i manually tried to shift from first to second, it hit the rev limiter and didn't shift. all other shifts are ok though. and it doesn't do it all the time. Help. what is it. its a new tranny from CPT.

I know this won't help you much, but I have something pretty similar going on right now. It NEVER shifts into second; just stays in 1st until I get over 35mph, then I can lift and get her into 3rd. It started doing it after the 1st time I floored it after getting alky and some dyno tuning. (497 rwhp) Haven't had a chance to get it checked out yet though.

I'd give CPT a call .. why mess with it if its a new trans
