Wow, I blasted off a 7.411 at 95.5mph tonight in the 8th!! All thanks to this new TE6131 turbo. I did this with 25# boost and 24 degrees wot timing. Previous best was 7.83 at 85mph with stock turbo. Had a 1.74 60' time and spun the ET Streets, could have been a good 7.3x if I had not spun the tires, but the temp was in the high 40's, cold track. Every run tonight was better than my previous personal best and all were 92+ mph passes..
It's time to hit the 1/4 track when it opens again in Jan.

What converter are you using? How was the spool up? I think I should have gone with the TE-61 instead of the TA-49. However, that may change in the future.

I see many good times people posting on this board with the TE61 turbos.

Dannyo, I have a 2700 stall convertor, spoolup is almost as quick as the stocker. I could build about 10# of boost just in time for the light to hit green on the tree, if I took it easy and didn't watch the tree I could build up to about 13-14#, but I also have all the rear brake mods and a jumper to put all of the brake line pressure to the rear wheels. It still spooled quick enough to spin the 28x11.5 ET Streets not right at takeoff, but about .5-1 sec in from what it looks like on the Direct Scan recording.
This should take me to the low 11s easily without maxing everything out and still spool quick. This has a different exhaust wheel that is not normally mated with the TE61 compressor. It looks similar to the Garret housings and is a T3 type of exhaust wheel with a .63 exhaust housing.

I will have a 3200 stall converter within a couple weeks. It should be fun for a little while with the T49.

I do plan on upgrading the turbo in the near future. I will be porting the heads and intake over the winter, maybe add a cam.

Bring the car next week to redline at the LSPBC event.
