New Car for the wife FUN !!!!

Since pontiac is going away this is my last chance so I said the heck with it and we went saturday and got her a new 2009 G8 GT . Guys if you haven't gotten to drive one, GO NOW. The car is amazing, real room for 4 and will slam you back in the seat with power. Best of everything to me, figures when they finally get it right they can it. GRRRRRRRRRR

Love the look of those cars too! My grandma has one...lol...but I'm almost positive it's never been over 50mph. Hmmmm...maybe I should borrow her car for a day. :biggrin:

What did you pay for it? I've been interested in them since they first came out! I was at a dealer today and they had a white GXP in the lot. I would love to take one of them for a drive. I've tested the G8 and loved it. No heated steering wheel though.

On another note the G8 does get high marks even with magazine editors. Unlke Oldsmobile it appears that Pontiac will go out on a high note....just hope it holds its value in years to come.

By the time we got thur with the discounts, etc it was 30 out the door with 0 down. No heated steering wheel lol but both front seats are heated though lol. We got the dark grey , its a wonderful car to drive, very quick and holds the road like its on rails. I was very impressed with it. On a side note though she was following me home the other day and I was in the buick, she found out she couldn't keep up with me on boost hahahhha. Daniel

I picked one up in March after selling my GN and Turbo T and while I still love the Turbo Buicks, the G8 is awesome and I love driving it. So nice to have something that handles well and is comfortable to drive vs. the Buicks. I highly recommend!

it goes without saying that I'm outraged at what has happened to GM. the fact that such a well engineered and designed car as the G8 is about to get scrapped because of it just adds to the frustration.

my dad has a new GXP and we both really like it! great car, but a warning to anyone who drives one of these... do not drive a GXP and then immediately drive your buick right after it... I almost rolled right through my front streets stop sign because i was used to the really, really touchy brakes on the pontiac

Congrats on the new car! What color did you get?

It's really interesting that a lot of turbo Regal owners (past and present) seem to be picking up these cars.

I'm still loving mine. To me, for the money it's the best all around car you car get. Seats 4 comfortably, good size engine, handles like a dream. It's good for the strip, AutoX or just cruising down the highway. At 55 to 60 MPH you feel like your just crawling down the highway because it doesn't feel like your going fast.

Eric, we got the dark grey with black interior. We are loving the car so far. At 60 or so you are hardly turning any rpms at all with that 6th gear.

Pronto really it was more than that, it was right at 33 on the sticker and by the time they add all the crap on it would be a lot more than that, so 30 out the door period seemed ok by me. 0 down ended up being 508 a month for 72. I can stand that but NO MORE lol. sheesh but its great knowing the wife is in a good car and I don't have to work on it hahahhahaa.

lol Not touching it, thats Emilys baby.:biggrin: May put a cat back on it later to get a better exhaust sound as it is super quiet and she wants it to growl as she told me hahaha. They have several out on the market for them but that 1000 plus price tag is holding me back right now !
