I went to the track last night with a fresh motor, was expecting a little more out of this new combo.

11.91@111mph
11.97@113mph
12.08@115mph

This is a 30 over motor,212/212 cam, ported heads and intake, Eastern front mount, 62-1turbo,9/11 converter, 72inj, Hemco upper,ATR headers,Red armstrong chip,c-116.
This is on 24psi.
1.69 60ft
809 o2'S on scanmaster
0 knock

I was expecting a very low 11. What do you guys think?

Yea, what he said....

You do have a low 11 combo for sure..just takes tuning.

809 O2's sound a bit rich...... If you're tuning by O2's most like to see 780-770's, but it would also be a good idea to get an EGT to tune with...... Also, you didn't say but I'd like to know how much timing does the chip have that you were using?? I'm sure there is more in that combo with a better tune!

I'd be looking for 10's with all that stuff.

Yes, I'd be interested in EGTs as well. You're either running fat or something's slipping...

:D

Yup, just going to take some tuning.

If you have real good gas (sounds like you did) and a good potent race chip (I wont go there), you definately have a very low 11 second ride.

I like to run my O2's down in the 750-760 range at the track (keeping an eye on knock retard(dont allow any))
I also run pretty high boost (25-27)
and a lot of timing (29°)

GOOD RACE GAS!!!

Thanks for quick replies.
I know the fuel is good, only use c-116.
ATR dual delivery.
Not slipping, tranny lock up feels great.
Seems kind of rich.
Ill try a little less fuel pressure and see how it goes.

I agree it sounds pretty rich. Just keep an eye on the boost cause it will start climbing as the egt's climb as you get leaner. Maybe take a couple of psi boost out to start with, along with the first drop in fuel pressure?

I think its the driver..

hehehehe

Mike did a 12.03 at 113.5 1.75 60

Back under my rock ...

:D

Turn the boost down to 20-21 psi and cut a bunch of fuel.

Would you rather take a few attempts to get low 11's or blow it up on the first try and have to start from scratch.

809's is pretty rich for a race tune. What's your static fuel pressure set at? Reds' chips tend to be on the fat side. Might think of an alternate chip to try. Most important is tuning. It's hard to go to the track with a new set up and expect to run it's potential the first time out. Get it dialed in ( which might take a few more trips ) and you'll get where you want.
