Been running 17" wheels for the past few years and decided to dive in and get a new set of drag wheels. Went with the new Centerline competition series "Rev", new wheels for '09. Center Line Wheels
I'm running F-body brakes, front and rear, front wheels clear no problem, had to modify the rear calipers for clearance. I made a jig/fixture to clearance the calipers using a die grinder, if anybody needs to mod their calipers this makes it way easy.
I also went a different route for the wheel screws. Got a lead to this site: Welcome to Kaizen Motorsports and decided to go this route. VERY clean install, took a while to do, but very nice.

Front are: 15 X 4 / 1-3/4" bs with 27.5 X 4.5 M/T runner
Rears are: 15 X 10 / 5" bs with 28 x 10.5 M/T (notched frame)
Centerline was great to deal with, quick to ship and a good price.
Notice in the pics brakes are cloooose, but they clear.

Looks badass, Todd. That cars stance and those wheels are perfect. And that caliper solution was trick. You should rent that tool out to the F body guys and pay for your next set of tires.

And those rim screw inserts seem like the way to go. After going through a few sets of tires those holes get wallered out. I cant wait to do mine like that. And it looks way cleaner.

Dang, it looks like your getting serious! I need to borrow your drag radials...is that cool!?! j/k

Todd,
The new rims look great. You have some impressive skills and do meticulous work.. Good Job.

truth be known, I hate the drag look on the street....Its just not me.....but that is completely hot, and is making me rethink my view.

Completely different look coming from the 17s to the "big and skinny" set-up.
I still plan on using my 17s for street duty, but I will probably pimp the race wheels occasionally on the street! I got them mainly for the track.

Those look great , let me know if you want to sell your Intro wheels :D
LOL, thanks for the offer, gonna keep those a little while longer. If I got rid of the Intros I would just end up getting another set.
Besides, if I came home with any more wheels and tires I think my wife would shoot me!

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Todd

Looks good. How did it feel drilling the brand new rims? :frown:

Where did you get those rim screws?

Thanks

that looks great Todd, Nice choice on the wheels, they are open enough to still show off the big brakes. Any new times recently?

I really didn't want to drill the rims, but after talking to quite a few people, tubes and screws was the safest solution (I'm right at the 130 mph mark in the 1/4). I searched and searched for the screws in bulk (cheap), but could only get them from Kaizen Welcome to Kaizen Motorsports (I believe they are in Ohio). Took a little time and set-up to do it, but came out excellent. I drilled/tapped through the rim at 3* to match the face of the lip, that way the screw head would be flush and would enter the bead of the tire correctly. If you will notice on pic above (4th one down pic 10) you can see the head/drill at a slight angle to the rim. I guess I got a little fancy but it payed off.

Just got the tires/rims on the car on Moday, so haven't got to the track yet.
Last time out I ran down in Navasota (1/8), ran a 6.90 at 101, soft launch @ 9psi and cut a 1.51 60'. hopefully with a little more seat time with the new components I can bring that down and get a 1.4 and possibly a 6.7ish time. I'm still on pump gas, so race fuel and timing may be in the works this summer.

Todd,

Where is the thread you made on the rear brake conversion that has pics of your rear brakes?
