Don't worry about the guys jumping your case, and definitely don't let it make you sell or part the car. Fix it, drive it and enjoy it. You are not too far from getting it back on the street, jus tlisten to the advice on here, even if it comes off a little (okay a lot) condescending. They are right, you really need a way to monitor boost and knock. Otherwise you risk popping the head gaskets your first trip out of the garage. 15-17 PSI is about all you can usually manage on 91-93 octane. You may not know it, but 20 psi on 91-93 octane on most cars is screaming for help, pinging like mad. A cam change won't really be that big a deal requiring a chip change. Worry about a Scanmaster first, as stated above. In the meantime, take the chip out and take a pic. Maybe it has a number on it so you can tell who's it is and verify it was burnt for your injectors.

Drain the gas, change the filter, run some good fuel system cleaner and new gas through it, change the filter again after that first full tank. Take it easy on the motor until you verify oil pressures, fuel pressure, coolant temps, trans fluid is good to go, etc. Do a spring cleaning listed on gnttype and get it running in top (mostly stock) condition, then take it a step at a time.

Good luck, keep posting up progress and asking for help. If you need more help, post up in your regional section. There may be guys local who can help.
