Hi All,

Any ideas on saving $$$ on a new GM car purchase? We're looking at a new Caddy CTS (sorry, not the "V"... wife refuses to drive a stick). We're looking at around $37K sticker here in SE TX...
  • "Blue Chip" paint (2nd = black, 3rd = platinum)
  • Two tone interior
  • Luxury package
  • XMS radio
OH, and we'll be selling her (original owner) 65K mile '96 Impala SS soon after purchase.

Get a GM mastercard and put stuff like you property tax, homeowners insurance and other major purchases on it. They pay 5% cash back toward the purchase of a new GM vehicle.

I've had mine 2 months and have $500 already.

It's a trick question.

Nobody who can afford a Caddy would stoop to looking for a discount...

:D

UNGN, Is $500 for the year still the max on the GM card? I think its also 7 years max so the most you can save is $3500. Also I know some cars like the Vette, you are only allowed to use like $500 or 1k max on them.

How does $34,700 sound(MSRP $38,000)? If the sticker is 37k make that $33,700. I may have added more options to the car then you may need. Take a look at my website for more info. Thanks!

Russ, I have a 'GM in the driveway' certificate available. Talk to your local dealer about it and what your price would be using this certificate and if you want it, e-mail me. Sevilons@aol.com.

Hey Dan is that like an extra $750 off? If it is you can subtract that from the $34k (you can also subtract any GM card money you may have).

Hey NAC guy, Can you do GMS deals or do they have to be handled at the dealer?

GM Supplier - generally gets you down to or under invoice price. All other current rebates apply. Dealers' discression as to wether or not they want to play with you.....basically all they're making is hold-backs, ad, and prep fees = ~$800.00

Yeah, what he said. My wife's dad retired from GM so were eligible for GMS pricing. Its basically a no-haggle process. Our Avalanche stickered for 38K and we got it for 26K after rebates and with GMS price.
I was just curious if you could handle GMS as well, since you're local and I'm looking to get a car soon.

Yes I can do that. You'll just walk in the dealer with a set price, one hour (or less) your out of there. Just so you know your not stuck with Chevy. I can basicly get those pricing on any make and model. Examples are in my sig. Thanks.

The GM in the Driveway certificate allows you to purchase the vehicle at GM supplier price which is about invoice I believe. GMS is GM employee, retiree, etc. pricing. You then deduct any incentives that may be available. You can also use a GM card as well.

Dan, Can you verify the GM card thing? I've been doing a little research this afternoon, and it looks to me like they won't take GM card on top of GMS.
Thanks,

GMS (employee price) and the old blue or gold cards which earn 5% are not compatible. The new cards which earn a whopping 1% are.

The last GM vehical (1500 silverado) I did was $300 under invoice with out GMS. Of course that is with out any rebates. With NAC im pretty sure you can use the GM card incentives. I have mine up to $900:D

Yeah you now have to get the GM "Extended Family" Card to use in conjunction with the GMS discount. I got "Extended" up the arse as my earnings were chopped from 2000 to 400 dollars.
