As a child I remember going to Baytown Raceway and watching the GN smoke anything on the street...I particularly enjoyed watching them eat the 5.0 Mustangs that WERE ruling the street until the GN hit the scene. Many years later I finally purchased one...actually 2! I am heading to Austin tomorrow to pick up my newly acquired 1987 GN and an 86 T-Type. I bought these as a package deal from a freind that has run out of room and has switched his passion to 2 wheels so I am the new caretaker of these wonderful machines. I will post more when I pick them up but I wanted to introduce myself because I am sure I will have MANY questions. I have been lurking and reading here and the information the TurboBuick.com community has already provided is second to none! Thanks for everything that you have already done to help!

Welcome to the club and congrats. Post some pics when you get a chance.

Sounds like a well-built car for sure! Would love to see pics of it, not sure I want to click on that link at work though...

I would keep an eye on temps depending on how much block filler was used. Congrats and welcome to the fam!

Welcome aboard. Go to the Texas section and you'll find a sticky for Texas members. We've got some in the Houston area that should help you if you need it and I'm in Hillsboro, in between DFW and Waco.;)

If you ever meet up with Charlie down there in TX, watch out for the ants. You all should warn the flip flop wearing SoCal guys ahead of time. I think I still have scars!

The scars are from you being a squid James, and the "fire" you're feeling isn't from ants.:ROFLMAO:

I will take more tomorrow when I get home but the GN goes home first! Should have her tucked in the garage by noon tomorrow after a good wash! Can't wait to get the motor and new tranny back in!

Phase 1 complete...the GN is at least in the garage, she needs a bath but unfortunately I have too many commitments today so it will have to wait! I will head back to Austin some time this week to get the T and the rest of the parts that were all part of the deal. It is gonna take a little work but she will be back on the road soon. Anyone in the Houston area up for a steak dinner in exchange for some assistance stabbing the motor and trans back in this beauty? I don't believe it is going to be a tough job but someone that has done it a few times with the GN would be a huge help I am sure!

image.jpg image.jpg I also stopped by my brothers bike shop...I may bring this sweet little Guzzi custom home to rest in the stable! Beginning to need a bigger garage!!! I wonder what my wife would say if I asked her to park in the driveway...probably not a good plan!

Welcome to the site. Grab a beer and make yourself at home. Lots of good info and great people here.:)

Happy spooling X2
