Hello everyone. I'm a new, first time owner of a '87 GN. with 13,000 original miles. I'm not a racer or much of a car mechanic but what I am is a fan of these cars and have been since they were new. This website has an incredible amount of information but I've decided that I need to find someone in my area ( Mansfield, Ohio) to transform this stock (I believe) GN into a low to mid 11 sec. capable car. Call me Chicken but I understand my capabilities and the amount of spare time I have so I need help. Could you guys give me some contactcs? Mansfield is only about an hour from Cleveland or Columbus so it would be OK if it was from those areas. Thank you!

Good to see another one in Ohio. The Toy Barn in Dublin can do some mean Turbo Buick work, there are a few GN fanatics there

You do not want just anyone messing with a low mile car like that. I would contact Limited87...Brian Lorenz. He is extremely meticulous and pays real attention to detail. He is in Lodi area about 10 miles past the 71 interchange off 224. When you see his personal cars...you'll understand.
PM him...

Greg,
Welcome to one of the friendliest car sites on the web (that I've seen). Even though you're not a grease monkey, you'll want to know some stuff about how these things make tons of power with only 231 cubic inches. Here's some reading to you help wrap your head around what's going on under that hood as you humble that six figure exotic, at freeway speeds. http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/threads/info-for-new-turbo-regal-owners.380856/ The owner of that Ferrari will be asking you questions as you slow to the stop light. We here, are counting on the fact that you'll be able to explain to him clearly, why he'd be better off to trade in his shiny new Italian sports car for a 28 year old grandpa car.:)

We have a legend to protect here ya know. If you're going to be one of us, you'll need to learn a few things first, before we show you the secret hand shake.;)

Welcome to the secret fraternity known as Turbobuick.com.

Happy Spooling.

Thanks for all of the help. I have been in contact with Brian and stopped over to his place (WOW!). He's going work on my car this fall and I'm very excited that you guys helped me find a guru so close to my area. That "secret handshake" thing is something I'll try to prove myself worthy of :)!

If you own one of these cars, you are worthy to know the secret hand shake. (You may already know it:eek:).

It's quite easy. Just take your right hand, firmly reach back and pull out your wallet. Open wallet and start forking out hundred dollar bills like they're going out of style. This secret hand shake will need to be preformed on a somewhat regular basis, or until you are no longer in the fraternity.

Congratulations! You are now one of us. Completely screwed.:D

Any pictures of the car? I'm not too sure I would modify a car with only 13k miles...worth too much IMO. They are only original once ;)
Welcome to the board.
