New GN purchase - Chip ID Help needed -

Hello - Posting this pic for a friend. He bought an 1987 GN and it has this chip, (see pic) and also a button that changes from 0-6. From the writing on the chip it says what looks like 42# (I assume injectors) and also 009. Anyone know what this set up is? What is the button for? Thanks!
