Well, while I was at it, went ahead and replaced all of the rubber seals. T-tops, doors, window sweeps and all. So it was figured into the total. Plus the car was essentially disassembled (including the glass and interior components) then totally stripped to bare metal. After the paint was applied they spent hours wet sanding, buffing and polishing. It took put an enormous dent in my wallet....but I'm glad I didn't cut corners now. I had been saving coins for quite sometime to have it done.
what was the final cost?if you dont mind me asking...looks good

why is it that no one ever wants to say what they spent on a paint job, motor build etc....etc.... its not that we want to know how deep your pockets are, but more on how much we may be willing to spend or not spend. I just had 1 of my GNs painted white with black accent and it cost me $2500. door jams, under hood-trunk included. And I replaced all the weather stripping which cost $200 . My Black GN which is TTop is next to get painted, but it will remain Black. Nice GN by the way.....

My pockets are not only shallow.....but empty now. hahaha. I researched paint jobs and the other work I had done and found a wide range of prices. From 3k for paint only to around 17k for all the stuff I had done to mine. Mine was somewhere in between....... A large portion of the cost was after the painting....wet sanding, buffing and hand sanding to get the shine and clarity I was looking for. I went with the shop based on the reputation as well as past projects they have done for me.

Thanks not so fast. I invested what I did on paint because the car is 100% unmolested, low mileage, locally purchased, and fully documented. I added the wheels/tires that are on it now and have the OEM ones stored. It will be a keeper and passed on to my daughter one day.

$2500.00 is super cheap ...

There is over 10k in mine and it needed no bodywork other than a few dings ...link in signature.

I'm sure that most don't want to post what they paid due to people making comments about what was spent and trying to make someone think they overpaid for what they got...

Just my thoughts

like everyone else on here, i too looked around and got different price qoutes. If I paid 10k for a paint job , id be to paranoid to ever bring it out of garage..:p just because of some people that don't take of their cars like we do, door dings, park way to close,etc...etc... I would deffiniately punch someone in the face if I saw them swing open their door and hit the GN. but like everything else we do, we get what we paid for. plus I believe that given our geological placement also has a defacto on the pricing we get. guys back east may pay more due to the salt used in the winter months, as to guys back west / mid west, shops don't worry to much about the rust. unless car has just sat out in the elements forever. I have pics on the - what is parked next to GN thread. :)

Nice, how does it handle the boost ? You running turbo or super charger ?
Supercharger....it likes it !! It has all the supporting items as well though. Forged, Textralia clutch, hardened billet shafts, fuel system, Trans/diff brace, etc. Drive ability is as near stock as can be.....it is a little louder, but it's fine until it starts building boost. Then it gets exciting. 13" of Michelin powers in the rear and it's easy to haze them in third gear around 75-80 mph.

I brought the car home today....it looked much better sitting there in the clean shop with the polished floor than it does in my dimly lit garage, but it was nice getting it back and I sure missed driving it too.
