Is it just like a stock pan on the inside or does it have a trap door? With it on can you gain access to the bottom of the motor (remove it) or would you need to jack the motor up?

click on the link again, I just updated the pictures on the page where the big pictures are.

RJC Oil Pan

Id really like one of these before I put the engine in my car.Anyway I could buy the prototype???

you can't buy the prototype but production units will be available soon.

I didn't see a trap-door but my vision isn't what it used to be. Other than capacity what are the added features?

deep sump with a billet pickup tube extension to match. drain plug on the outside of the pan so all of the oil will drain out of the pan. The pan is baffled exactly the same as the stocker. This will be a deep sump pan priced about half as much as comperable other deep sump pans that are hard to get. These will be zink plated gold like in the picture.

Can be used with your girdle or can it be removed in the car? Kind of didn't get answered yet.

yes of course you can use it with the girdle. as for removing it with the motor in the car, it should not be any different than the stock pan. (it is posable but with the girdle it is more difficult)

Nice :D

I might be interested.....but....how about making a provision for a temp sending unit. Something that is plugged unless you have a gauge (like me)...then I wouldn't have to bring the pan in to get an adapter welded on.

Not sure how much that would add to the price, but I'm sure it would save the buyer money in the long run when you consider the time and price of having it done locally.

considering less than 5% would want a temp bung welded on the pan it would not be cost effective to produce them this way. this could however be a custom addition that I could do at the time of the order. no big deal.

Better yet :D

these deep sump pan kits will have a custom billet pickup tube extension in a length that fits your engine (2" for girdled motors and 1 1/4"lg for non girdled motors)

These should be a bolt on deal that will increase the oil capacity and keep the pickup from cavitation durring hard launches.

Howdy,

Will these be 20 bolt only or can those of us still using the old 14 bolt motors get one of these pans?

Thanks,

for now they will be 20bolt only. I have to see if the investment works out before i invest another large sum doing 14bolt versions.

well crap, I need to baffle the pan on my 4.1 somehow and this would have been the ultimate solution, no way you could use a girdle as an adapter could you?

While you are at it with the 14 bolt version, make a custom pickup tube for a stage II wet sump block. I know you will be able to sell these at a good profit. Even external pickup pans for those guys using the 3.625 stock cast cranks in thier TSM cars. :D
