Great tool. They didnt have that when I was in Law Enforcement. We just had the ole stick and spray.:D

Sweet, this will help keep citizens in line.

Soon enough we'll all have shock collars to ensure total law and order.

Why did they use 3 girls for the experiment?

Welfare moms needed the money.

What they are not telling is they are wearing Depends so when they wet themselves it won't show.

I read the description of the new unit. It sounds like its able to adjust the current to maintain better control. Makes sence if all 3 shots were designed to run at the same time.

The old unit was more of a resistance based machine. More resistance more current. No one ever gets the full voltage. So when you see those descriptions about subjects getting 50,000 volts in the news or media, its often incorrect.

Example, If the unit can maintain the programmed pulse cycle only using 5 volts then thats all you get. Of course to be effective there is a minimum voltage threshold needed to be effective.

Disclaimer:
Before all the electrical engineers or laminar flow folks(jk!;) ) step in. Ther above description is loosely writen. Perhaps some of the terms are incorrectly used, but writen in a way that normal folks can understand.

Tasers are not legal here in NJ

Considering the Draconian state you live in Billy as far as gun control punishment goes it really suprises me they would not allow the Police to have such a great tool. I can understand making it specifically unlawful for a civilan to carry but it makes absolutely no sense to prohibit the Police from having them.

Who made that decision anyway to prohibit law enforcement from carrying them?

Without a shaddow of a doubt it is the best tool ever developed for law enforcement. The firearm is great and needed of course but considering only 1/2 of 1% of the Police officers in this country ever even discharge their weapon at someone I would think NJ would be craving for more effective less lethal devices.

I personally know of two incidents in my own dept. where lives would have been saved (Not that it's a loss to society:rolleyes:) if the Taser was available.

Why haven't your unions taken the state to court? I'm sure Taser International would send reps on the your behalf.

I like the bean-bag shotgun.

Skip to about 1:17 for the ownage.
YouTube - Bean bag shot by police

I have carried the M26 model for about 6 years now. I have fired it only once. Every other time, just removing it from the holster and turning the unit on will gain compliance.

Should be noted that we have watched videos of inmates at the jail training on how to fail on the ground after taser utilization in order to break the wires and escape. The new unit will be very helpful as there will be no "down time" reloading.
