so,
this weekend i installed a new 9.5'' 3000 stall converter. Before the swap the car had a little hesitation from a stop (like it wanted to stall) and a slight rough idle in park. After the install on the first test drive the problems it was having seemed like they doubled. i was at a four way stop and when i went to give it gas she stalled. i know the TC isn't the problem but why does it seem like it's making it worse? Thanks, Mike

This is just a guess but when I ordered my chip they asked what TC i was using so MAYBE you have to get a chip burned for the new TC..

If it's a 5 disc, it's not uncommon to have stalling problems.

If you were having some issues before the converter, then I would look into your scantool numbers to see if something is off (BLM's).

When stalling or slowing down to stop does it feel like its stuck in gear? If so the TC Solenoid may be on its way out. Just a thought?

i'll have to take it out tonight and really focus on when i'm having the most problems. I'll also post my scanmaster numbers. How far in to the tranny do you have to go to get to the lock up solenoid? thanks

If its a vig you can band aid it by having the the idle speed raised in your chip and raising the minimum air rate a little.

Just have to drop the pan. It's the bottom of the pump. The Pic is a 700R4 trans but it's in the same location on a 2004R, part with Red wire coming out of it at front.
