I am new to turbo buicks, i got my first one three days ago. I would like to ask you guys for some advice on what i could do to make the car faster. The car is an 85 the motor is compleatly stock. The trany is a three speed turbo 350 the rear has a posi installed, but the motor is kind of weak. Any advice would be apreciated what gives the best bang for the buck. I have no clue on were to start.

dont know about having a turbo 350 in these cars but know a little about the engines . How do you know its weak ? Do a compression chek and a leak down , then a search on this board .
Do a fuel pump and an adjustable reg. Then a scan tool and tune it for more boost, depending on what you can get with no knock .

i am a perfect example of the basic modes on these cars, I have just thrown money at my car for like four years and i never the gain i was looking for and then i just tuned the car and gained more than any other mode i have done.
it will take some learning but it will be worth it:)

After you install the necessary fuelpump, hotwire, and adjustable regulator, the best bang for the buck is turning up the boost, chip, and filter. Using a switch or paperclip, lock the torque convertor, disconnect the hot water lines to the throttlebody, and disconnect the exhaust from the downpipe (for the track). If you're really good at tuning and launching your car you can take a second off the stock 1/4 mile time with these mods.

After basic mods, intercooler, turbo, and headers/downpipe each make a big difference.

This assumes the car is already running right. You might want to check out the spring cleaning section at gnttype.org. for what to do to make sure your car is running up to par in stock form first.

You also need to get that TH350 out of there. If it is still stock gearing inside it, it will only have a 2.52/1.52 first and second. This is still lower than the 200-4R gearing of 2.74 in first. Not much leverage for good launches in a TR unless you are making some serious power.
