Hi . im new to the turbo buick scene and I was wondering a bout some things.See I am 16 and I want a GN or a T-type but cant afford ethier so I was thinking a bout taking a 86 Regal and making a T-Type clone.I have always loved Gn's since riding in my cousin's GN .So now that I've got my licence I want a Gn so I was just wandering if it would be a good idea to make a clone.

If by clone you mean just the look of a T-type or GN, then go for it, but if you mean the drivetrain, then you'd be better off finding a GN or T-type that needs work:( . (as finding a engine/trans is almost as expensive as a Turbo Buick that needs work)

I would probly not have a ny problems getting the parts My cousin he has another GN engine with ECU . And he told me that he would help me make it look And run like a T-type . I want some thing that I could drive to school and then on the weekends Eat rice and ford dinners

Well in that case, find a Regal in Nice condition (should be able to find one CHEAP), if he also has a wiring harness, it should't be that big of deal. If you are parking it in in the School parking lot, I'd be tempted to leave it looking like a stock regal (wire hubcaps and all) that way nobody will want to steal it, and It would be a real sleeper! Just have to find a tranny that would live in it.

Ill probley drive to school with the hub caps but will own a set of weld racing Draglites for the weekend .I probley would not have to worry about the car getting messed with though becaus I live in a small town . I want to paint the car Silver with black grill. then put the turbo hood and t-type badges

Look around on this board and e-bay. Many times higher mileage GN'S/T'S come up for sale that are very affordable.

How far from the city do you live? Many thieves venture to the small towns and rural areas - because people are not expecting it.

Good luck with your project, sounds like fun!

i've been where you are, i actually bought my t-type when i was 17, i was also on a budget, i saved up enough to buy the cheapest one i could find. big mistake.

take your time, start saving money now and buy a nice lower mile t-type when you have the money. you'll be glad you did. you don't realize it now but trust me in 6 months your'll look back and say "i was the worst driver ever!" i said it, all my friends said it. i had been around all kinds of racing too, but it didnt' help much. a turbo regal is not the best car to have when your still new to driving.

and when you have a nice one you'll be VERY happy you waited. and you actually will save money when you concider all the misc. stuff you'll have to fix in a high mile car, or the nickle and dime stuff you'll have to buy if you swap in a new engine.

See the reason I want a turbo Buick is all that is around here is Ragstangs, Wussy ricers, Rich boy cars (Corvettes,Firehawks, and a Ferrari 360) and you know that would have to bruise an ego to get beat by a "Regal".and know one around except me ,My cousin Chuck, and his buddy Craig ,even know what a GN is and deffinitaly no one would know what a T-Type is so that would be the PERFECT sleeper.I also have a rep at my school for knowing how to build a FAST car (I have helped several people build there car) so If I have a slow car everyone will wonder why . And I wouldnt dare get a ricer just bercause thats what every one else has so I want to go down my own path and make my own tire lines .(and have the Coolest car a trinity high)

LONG LIVE THE TURBO BUICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Down with the FRIGGIN RICERSand there Fart can exhaust
