Ok so you post about driving the car to the local track but then say gas was expensive so we pulled it around behind a golf cart at BG, sounds strange to me. I heard it was hurt at BG and you were just trying to get through the race.Any truth to that?

Kip, I don't know why you are worried about what I did with my car.. Yes, we pulled it to the staging lanes at BG Yes, when I was getting ready for my win in Columbus, I drove it 20 miles from my house to the local track ran it three times then drove it home and hit the throttle a few times along the way doing a little tuning...:biggrin: I also drove it to the local car hang out a few times before and after that race. Sometimes, I sneak out and just go for a ride when the urge hits me.. No block filler here.


OBTW, the car wasn't hurt at BG. I think I turned on the win light in the finals if I remember correctly. I did find out why it popped in the final round though, needed some new plugs after running all those rounds.

I did hurt the car in Norwalk. My 8 yr old aluminum heads finally cracked. Heck it even ran a 9.55 against Steve's 9.51 without any water in the engine and a nice sized crack on number 3 cylinder.

Put a new set of Champion GN1s on there and "Cruzed" down deep in the 9s ever since..

I chose to take it easy this year and only run what I needed to run to get to the end. Unfortunately, at Norwalk I had the head issue, and at the Midwest challenge the boost controller lost power and kept me out of the finals. Oh, I think I ran a 9.44 there when no one else got out of the 60s. In the end, the plan worked out like Don and I wanted.
