NHRA cage update, new requirement - what is it?

What exactly does the new NHRA rule require be added to the roll cage? Did I hear it called a "kidney bar"? What is it, and where does it go?

Where did you see this new "rule"? No mention of anything new for 2004 pertaining to roll bars or roll cages on NHRA web site.

If you are wanting to build a car to comply with their safety requirements, best to obtain an official NHRA rule book.
