Nitrous across the border ?

Did a little cross border shopping yesterday and came back with a trunk full of parts . One of the items was a new in the box NOS Nitrous kit . declared to Customs what I had and the first thing they asked was if the nitrous bottle was full . They seemed to be VERY OVERLY concerned about the bottle being full or not . Is it against the law to bring Nitrous across the border ??? Because...I plan on getting refills in the States because of the price difference . I should of asked but didn't , I just want to get the hell out of there .

They probably want to know if it's full of medical N2O. I don't think it's federally scheduled but is definitely illegal in some states as an inhalant.

I'm going to sent a email to Canada Border Services and see if I get a response to this .

No matter what they tell you it is still up to who is working the border that day .After 911 they don't want to see ANYTHING that could be something it is not(bomb)Too bad for us the terrorists have won,everything we do is checked and we are all concerned about everything that is nothing We have a local that is suppose to have good pricing if that helps.
