Hi all, I have a PTS shift kit, pressure regulator system, and blue clutch rebuild kit in my transmission.

Since the rebuild the transmission rarely (almost never) downshifts into 1st gear when coming to a stop.

After coming to a dead stop if I bump the shifter into nuetral and back into overdrive it will leave in first gear

Anybody have any ideas on this?

I had a problem like this. After a rebuild. It was a pressure spring that was to firm. Changed the spring. And, BINGO problem solved. Started in first like it was supposed to.
I will; check which spring, and get back later.

It was the TV plunger spring I was refering to in an earlier post.
The PTS shift kit gives you a small spacer for the TV plunger spring. If that spring is not the stock 1.900 spring, it will put to much pressure to the TV.
At least in my case, with the PTS kit, removing that .25 spacer remedied my situation.
Could also remove a couple clicks from the TV cable to check before disassembly.

there is absolutely no need to shim the tv spring when using a brf ,or cz valve body.in other calibrations it may be useful but i dont see the point.if you ask bruce im sure4 the shim is for non brf applications,or at least it should be imo.whats the scoop on it bruce?
