My car took a crap today anyway I found I have no spark at the coil on # 3 and 6 I'm real new to this so I read somewhere to check the coil so I pulled the coil up and test the blue feed wire and the yel/blk control wire with a test light and got no light. I think I need a ohm meter. Sorrry folks I'm trying to fly with no license:eek: Hey my last hobby was 66 bug:cool:

You probably have a bad coil. I forget but are 3 and 6 on the same coil? You can check it with an ohm meter, check for high resistance also check it cold and hot, but if its not firing i wouldn't keep running the car

Yes 3 and 6 are on the same coil.

Ohm the coilpack between adjacent towers (front/rear). Should be 11-13 k-ohm. If not, coil pack is shot... VERY common...

prob. the module more than the coil pack mine was the same way but on 2 and 4 and it was the module

Chuck is right re. the Casper's tester.... it's the only way to really test the cp/module assy. Autozone, etc. will 'test' the module, but their 'test' will not identify a faulty module, and is thus useless. IF the coil itself ohms out ok, then separate the coil pack from the module and check to make sure none of the spade connectors are shorting/grounding, and that the potting material in the module hasnt' turned to 'goo'. If it has, that's a (nearly) sure sign the module is bad. If either symptom (hi/lo ohms, gooey module) is present, just replace the part(s). I'm guessing this is what you will end up doing. The coil pack is relatively cheap, and modules can be had while still keeping your firstborn also. RedRegalT on this board may have some tested-good used combo's available. Watch out for the aftermarket modules from the local part store. Some have had success with them.... others have definitely not..... One reputable source for the OEM ignition components is: w's, dot, nos4gn, dot, com.

It was not the coil but the ignition module I changed them both so now I have an extra coil. The module was like goo anyway I now have no codes and #3 & 6 has fire. The codes I had was 22 and 45. Thank to you all !!!!!!!
