86 gn art car 2004r trans
When i am driving it takes to long for the trans to shift. Driving normal the car wont shift till i get to 3000 rpm. If I am hard on it no shift till i let off the pedal. It is not slipping though nice firm shift. The problem came from nowhere. No overdrive at all. The TV cable is working fine. The trans has 5000 miles on it.
Help:confused:

Shut off engine.Disconnect tv cable from throttle body.Pull the cable in and out 20 times quickly.Start the engine and repeat this procedure.Reconnect cable and road test.Does it shift now?

If this doesn't work, you may have lost the spring in the governor.

Well i pulled the pan and all kind of friction dirt in pan i think i will have to rebuild the trans. i guess the cable was not set right. Any thoughts? Trans was working good i wouldn't think that the cable was set wrong, It was shifting great. changed the fluid in the pan. took it for a drive 1st to 2nd good 2nd t0 3rd 3000 rpm or higher and no overdrive shift, reverse slips and then kicks in. I tried moving the cable back and forth no luck.
i can do the trans job myself don't really want to.
anyone know a good guy in Houston area for a good price? i don't want cheep
parts either
