No reverse on a 79 200 metric

Hi to all I have a 79 cutlass with a metric 200 not a 200r4,no reverse. Yes is those old cheap trans,but runs fine forward. Can it be a seal gone bad? Thanks.

Does it have first when you put the shifter in 1?
What about third?
Could have a bad seal in the rev side of the direct. Or the low/rev seal if no first.

Has 1,2,and 3 good. reverse wants to move barely when you rev the engine hard (a little drag).
