Ok I was not thinking this weekend ,I picked up a plain Regal to do a SBC turbo project, car is super clean...but last night got to thinking about running a CarFax on it ,so went outside to match the title and dash,,  ,NO stinkin VIN plate!!! what can i do,I can just picture when that Emissions test comes, some pimple face redhead saying no vin ,cant test car.....

Sometimes a windshield gets replaced and the notch to see the VIN through is not in the same place. Is it really missing? If you're not sure, remove the speaker cover and you should be able to see the back edge of it.

Is it in the door jam, decklid, or anywhere else?
No stickers/codes anywhere...

Will have to check the speaker cover ,does look like glue is newer in the area..

If it has no vin the Police will most likely sieze it. Check the inside of the trunk lid where the option codes are listed, check the underside of the rear seat for a build sheet. Snap a picture of the windshield area where the vin should be and post it up. good luck

Did you get a title? Did you ask the seller about this? Look in doors behind the panels you may find build sheets there.

THe car has a replacement vin tag on the door jamb ,guess when they did the windsheild they may have last it,but has a Michigan sticker that has the same vin number as the title..

Sounds like a state issued VIN. As long as it is legit from that state you should be fine, but I wonder why such a nice car would have had to be re-vinned? For what you want to do with it, it shouldn't matter. But, the seller should have told you that it was re-VINned.

No Vin ??

Hope this helps, I have used this guy in the past. WWW.datatags.com, #860-747-2942. He might make new dash tags for Regals. Try S10-GN for door and trunk ID's. Hope this helps, and good luck, it a real nice car. Thanks Mike D.
