hey guys, i have an 84 t type with stock gearing and an auburn possi differential that i installed 6 months ago. everything was set up and dialed in correctly. i haven't had any problems out of it until recently. i have a noise coming out of the left rear axle, but not all the time, it's a popping , clunking type noise that i can't pinpoint. i've puled the diff cover checked the all the differential bearings, also pulled the axles and checked the bearings, nothing. figured that maybe it could be the clutches chattering, refilled the diff and added posi additive and after a little driving, pop, pop, pop. man this is driving me crazy! any one had this problem before? helppppp!!!!! oh i don't think that the noise is actually in the left rear but being transfered to that wheel through the axle.

I've never dealt with an Auburn so I have little to offer. Does it only do it around corners or accel or decel? I assume you checked the teeth on all the gears when you had the cover off. Is the pin or the hole in the carrier the pin rides in worn? I've actually had to put cars up on the rack with the diff cover off and run them real slow to find a noise. Are you sure it's not in the suspenison?
