Hi to all,

This is my 1st post, loved reading here.

What would you say about removing the intercooler, and using 100 % methanol?

What are the pros and cons?

Better response due to non-intercooling.

Less power due to non-intercooling?

On the other side, Meth and Pump Gas have different AFRs.

For example:

GASOLINE AFR of 11,24 equals METHANOL AFR of 4,96.

When I pour 100 % methanol, do I need to tune my engine by looking at the Meth AFRs which vary from 4.42 AFR to 8.84 AFR?

Or can I keep on reading as Gasoline AFRs although I have 100 % meth in the tank.

yes 100 % methanol.
Cause we dont have race gas here and I would like to run high boost pressures such as 45 psi.

Yes you then need to retune your engine, address your fuel system as you may need up to 3x the amount of fuel, and pay attention to the condition of the methanol.

Most who run on methanol on race cars will drain their tanks after a weekend of racing and run gasoline through it. Understand there is a lot of maintenance to do this.

Most on this forum run gasoline and inject methanol to stop detonation at higher boost levels. Most run 80-85% gasoline, 15-20% fuel. Some more, some less.

It is geared more to what your trying to do. And boost levels of 45 PSI, you really should be doing some intercooling. 45 PSI=450-550 degree's plus ambient=550-650 degree's.. thats a lot of temperature to control.
 
OK i will keep my intercooler.

Say @ 22 psi of boost pressure, what should be the AFR value when I run 100% methanol. I had 11.3 AFR with pump gas, and now
what value is the equivalent of 11.3 when I run methanol 100%.

The stoich on methanol is 7.0 vs 14.7 on gasoline.

So if you tuned 11.3 on gas, meth would be like 5.0:1

lets say I had 11.5 AFR for 22 psi with VP IMPORT.

Now i run 100 % methanol what should be my AFRs for 22 psi?
 
5.0 is almost like 11.3 gasoline. am i correct?

Did you ever use/hear about a fuel lubricant named as MANHATTAN?

No never. Here in the states there is a lubriant called Klotz that is used.

5.0 should be like 11.3. Maybe start at 4.6-4.8
