What is the purpose of installing a non lock-up valve in the pump when installing a nonlock-up converter? If the TCC soleniod closes off the exhaust circuit and causes the piston to apply the clutch why does the valve need to be replaced with a n/l valve? With the soleniod removed, wouldnt the trans behave like a conventional open converter? Have I missed something? Thanks in advance.
