What is the purpose of installing a non lock-up valve in the pump when installing a nonlock-up converter? If the TCC soleniod closes off the exhaust circuit and causes the piston to apply the clutch why does the valve need to be replaced with a n/l valve? With the soleniod removed, wouldnt the trans behave like a conventional open converter? Have I missed something? Thanks in advance.

It would be like running the trans without the TCC locked & cause overheating. The N/L kit redirects fluid flow to correct this problem and increase cooling. If I'm wrong someone will correct me.

I am considering going the non lock up route. What is exactly involved in converting to non lock up? And where do i get the parts?

you must remove oring from the end of input shaft, install non lock up valve in pump(installs with trans together thru the pan).i have the kit if you need 1 its 49.00

I am NO transmission guru. Does it come with pictures AND instructions?

My question is what exactly does a n/l-up valve kit do that simply leaving the factory valve in place doesnt . Does the factory valve restric cooler flow and thats why a aftermarket kit is needed? Just wanted to know how the aftermarket stuff works.
