Hello everyone. I just bought my first turbo 6 and am stoked to get started. I have owned a few other g- bodies but no turbo cars. Its an 86 T-type all original except hooker exhaust and cai. First I have a charging issue. Has new alt and batt, volt light does not come on but bulb is fine. What else can I check? Second the tank is leaking and I am replacing it, also going to install a new hot wire kit and airtex 340 pump. What other mods will give me the most bang per buck? Thanks in advance for your help!

There is a relay that turns on the fan after the engine is turned off. Sometimes that doesn't work correct. Search fan relay. I wouldn't use an Airtex fuel pump. There are better choices. Search fuel pumps, lots on that. Replace your fuel filter while your at it. Best bang for your buck is good running engine. Then mod. Mods don't fix bad running cars.

WELCOME PILGRIM! Glad to have you aboard. First and most important is to dedicate your time to reading and learning all you can about your new car. There are a lot of knowledgeable guys on here and they're all willing to help. But first try to get yourself up to speed before it becomes a costly project. Check out the spring cleaning on the above web site, it will help you get familiar w/your car while prepping it for road worthiness.

Again welcome!!!

The battery probably isn't charging because of a bad circuit. Does the bulb light up at key on, engine off? If not, you're alternator won't charge. There are numerous solutions to this issue, but let us know if the volt bulb lights at all KOEO.

Thanks for the info. I mis spoke it is an aeromotive stealth 340 pump. I have the car running good (well as good as it can on just battery power) and have completed the spring cleaning. The volt bulb does not illuminate, I have pulled the cluster and checked the bulb itself and even swapped it out. Still no go. All the connections look good and are clean. I have ordered caspers field fix. Hope to have it this week.
