Then they are nice folks who sugar coat you with that cute NC accent. I rented a Beach Townhouse in Myrtle beach..
Oh I could go on & on. I had another time in ATLANTIC beach. As far as I am concerned that state has had 3 strikes with me. I am not going back!

I think I would have to take medication to live there to slow my pace down to dead speed!

Uh, Myrtle Beach is in SC, as well as a beach named Atlantic Beach. NC has an Atlantic Beach too. I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but with the way the world /economy is going, I'd rather pack my bags and head down to a shanty shak in SC coastal lowcounty & live like a pioneer without all the big city crime. Forgive me, i like s-l-o-w

Hell we are so stupid in Charlotte that our home values have remained steady and we have the 3rd best housing market in the country while the geniuses in Midwest lead the nation in negative mortgages. Michigan @ 29% and Ohio at 22%. That means that 1 out of every 5 home owners in Ohio owes more money than their house is worth.

Now I don't know where you come from, but down here paying the bank $400,000 for a house that is worth $250,000 just doesn't seem smart but like you said we are stupid so maybe we just don't get it.

LUMP EM all in together! doesn't matter all they did was split up 1 big carolina into 2. Pretty states but a little azz backwards.. Don't take offense RHODE ISLANDERS take the cake!

I have to agree about that when I was passing thru to go to Florida.

Instead of having the waitress take our $$ food bill you actually have to get in a line & checkout. It must have been 20 mins we waited to pay..... TALK ABOUT STUPID.
Not sure if they still do it this way today?

Then they are nice folks who sugar coat you with that cute NC accent. I rented a Beach Townhouse in Myrtle beach.. The Brochure said heated pool & jacuzzi, but what the realtor negated to say was it was to be built in the future. Needless to say I was PIZZED when I got there to find this out!.

Well, I'm sorry you feel that way, however there are some holes in your reasoning:

Point #1: Yoiur dining experience is not isolated by region. I have had the same experience in Indianapolis, Oakley MI, San Diego CA, Bristol CT, and even Providence RI so that frame of reference of yours is invalid...

Point #2: As Cheryl stated previously, Myrtle Beach is in SOUTH CAROLINA. And stupid realtors are not exclusive to below the Mason-Dixon.

Point #3: I could tell you a wonderful story about the mental midget clerk at a 7-11 just outside of Bristol RI, but again: stupidity is pretty much universal!

Point#4: Have you ever seen the hustle and bustle of Shrewsbury, Charlton, Pawtucket, Gloucester, Rockport or even Southbridge? Especially during the winter time?

And some final food for thought: I am from Mass (Salem to be exact), and there is a reason why I am "from" Salem, as opposed to "still in" Salem.....

I FEEL for you too as I left MASS also! I just did not have to go so far as you did to feel happy.
.
As stated RI takes the cake! The carolinas is just the frosting.

Sad part is I have to agree about the Rhode Islanders....Connecticut is almost as screwy (even the Whalers got outta there!), but it does serve as a nice "buffer zone" between the m*******s and the new yorkers.

But here's the real icing on the cake: this state is 100% Kennedy-free!!!

OH please don't start me with NEW YORK & NEW JERSEY..

HAHA NJ is GAS ATTENDANT STATE.. What moron in NJ passed that law. You can't pump your own gas. MY eyes are rolling!. Please stop or I will offend every state that I have visited.

I noticed the op is nowhere to be found.
Steve, you're like me, an equal opperunity hater. If you offend everyone, nobody feels left out.

I stupidly moved from the NE... Where my parents pay $8000.00 a year in property tax, $3000.00 a year in auto insurance and about $3.00 a day to drive to work via the NJTP & Parkway.... I guess I'd rather be considered a slow Southerner than a bright Yankee who gets financially ass raped by the local economy...

I know I have to bite my toungue. It is my Fred Sanford style LOL!

How about I just mention the places I liked? Does Burmuda count

Ok,now that i've calmed down somewhat, i'll explain my remark about N.C.

First i want to apologize to anyone who was offended by my statement about North Carolina, and yes i do know the state is supposed to be in capital letters. I did it that way on purpose.

I just wanted to do to that state what they did to me and give no reason why and without any means of contact.

I went to the BMV here in Ohio on Friday to get my drivers license renewed and was told that i couldn't because the state of North Carolina has put a block on my license and without any reason why they did.

They give me a phone number for the DMV in N.C. and i spent the rest of the day Friday trying to get ahold of them and couldn't. Around 5pm i called the DMV in Columbus and asked them if they knew why my license had been blocked by N.C. and they said they didn't know. They said the only thing that is showing from N.C. about the block is my name and date of berth, they didn't have my social security number or drivers license number or anything about the reason for it.

I haven't been anywhere near N.C. in the past 12 years.

I retired from the military in 2001 and have only been out of state 3 times since then and that was to KY,MI,PA.

Again i never meant any personal offense to anyone from N.C. just really PO about this mess.

if you dont like nc and sc stay the f$ck out .im tired of people bitchin about this i here all time from people the people in south are great people .if its so great up there why is all yankees moving south because it sucks up north ,no jobs ,bad roads , and so on quit ur whining we dont wont to here it so shut uppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp.   :D
thanks regalwe4 kevin

Don't worry if enough of your relatives in NJ move down there you will be right back at home someday!

Well I am from Kansas, but this sounds like a computer glitch not some dum NC/SC peeps. Trust me I travel all over for a living and there are dumb ****ers EVERYWHERE:cool:

Now that we have heard your side of the story, I must concede your point: our DMV is world famous for pointless red tape and pretzel logic. I can not begin to describe the confusion that ensued when I tried to title a car with a NY title and a PA bill of sale.

Luckily I have only 6 more years left in the Military, that will give me 24, I can retire, tuck tail and run from Fayetteville... I love NC but hate living in Fayetteville. Military towns are all the same this one just has more a$$ clowns per square mile than other Installations... Gotta love Paratroopers... I guess I just insulted myself :D

Hey is the NC DMV as bad as the MASS-ACHOO-SETTS ones use to be?
