Something I should have been looking at before. Noticed on some recent TLink files that TCC is not locking up until after the run, when Ive already let off the pedal. I was trapping at close to 103mph and the TCC solenoid would kick in at about 107 then turn back off a few mph later (about 103). I throw it into OD after going through the traps. Im using a Joe Lubrandt street chip. Thinking it should be an easy fix if anything is wrong at all, just need some advice as how I should proceed. This will free up some more mph, right?
I know there is plenty of info here about the TCC, I checked, but primarily seem to have to do with either problems locking all the time or not locking at all. Mine seems to work fine during normal driving, so Im more concerned about it from a performance stand point. Need to know, does the way its operating sound normal and I just need to install a manual switch? If so, I cant seem to see any consensus on how to operate it. I have been told to flip the switch when staging, which is also how the instructions (for the switch) at gnttype.org read. I have also seen where it is recommended to flip it when going into third gear.
Any help is appreciated.

If it works correct at normal driving, Joe must have programed it to lock at a certain MPH ( At WOT ) or what ever he goes by. I would suggest you call him as I/m sure he can adjust it.
Locking the convertor @ the top of 3rd has proved to work best for me. A locked convertor can not multiply torque.

To my knowledge Joe doesn't lock the converter at WOT in his chips...at least my chips were that way...on top of that when locking it manually via a switch Tlink will not pick it up...Tlink only displays lockup via the ECM when commanded by the chip...

Hmm, maybe it locking up momentarily after the run has to do with me throwing the shifter into OD
Oh well, I havent used a switch and TLink doesnt show it locking during the run at all, so this tells me that I havent had the benefit of it. So I will hook up a switch and try using it in 3rd gear (last chance at the track this weekend). Again, as far as I know it is working fine during normal driving. I will take it out on the highway sometime with TLink and see what it shows. I know that I can cruise at 65-70mph and rpms are low 2000s. Cant remember, maybe 2100-2200 ???
