Hey Frank,
Were just having fun. I don't care who has what or drives what. In 1979 I bought my first car a 1970 Charger R/T for $495.00. I had saved 500.00 but needed gas money to get the car home. I got into Mopars because they were cheap not because I had soooo much money. Also I'm on this forum because, I was on the Mopar forums braggin about the fast V6's and they told me to come here?

Steve Kaminski

Hi Steve,

1st I have to say I didn’t realize at the time that my opinion of another auto manufacturer would escalate into a verbal brawl, especially since this is a Pontiac forum specifically for the technical issues of the 1989 Turbo Trans Am. I certainly know the situation of buying a car that one can realistically afford when you’re a teenager. When I was 19 I bought a 1962 Corvair Monza for $125.0. The 1st time I drove over some railroad tracks the damn motor fell out. As far as the MOPAR goes, I thought I made it clear that, back then, they were very inexpensive. It was Chryslers’ way of competing with Ford. That little 289 destroyed all the manufactures. By the way, just for a side note, the fastest muscle car of the time was the Buick GSX. This is not my opinion, it is from reading about the cars of that time. You might ask yourself ‘where does this guy get off talking about this stuff?’. Well, I was 13 when JFK was killed. I got to drive most all of the old muscle cars and street race a few. UM! Waded up 1 or 2 also, don’t like to talk about that!
I did not mean any offense to you or anyone else with the ’Sooo much money’ statement. I was just pointing out how ridiculously expensive the MOPAR cars are. If you watch Barrette/Jackson there’s always 10 or maybe more MOPARS.
Well, that’s really enough of my soap box. I will not respond to any more of this subject, it goes no where and causes hard feelings and bad attitudes and I don’t believe that’s what this forum is about.
I thank you for your post and hope that we can help and exchange idea’s on the TTA in the future.
You are a Gentleman Sir.

Not that I'm not guilty of this sometimes too...but...
