long time listener, first time caller :)

i'm building my own alchy/water kit for my TT and i'm wanting to know about mounting the nozzle before or after the throttle body. i have a bov that vents to atmosphere... so if i put the nossle before the throttle body won't the alchy just be blowing out between shifts? i realize that mounting the nozzle after the throttle body gives the charge less time to cool... but i'll be using a mcmaster 3178K87 which supposedly atomizes the spray really well. any thoughts?

You should be just fine shooting after the BOV.

thanks for the response!

next question then... the bov is only ~5" from the tb... the ic pipe going to the tb is only 3" diameter... how is spraying into that small of an area better than spraying into the plenum directly after the the throttle plate?

Well technically spraying further away from the TB is better for cooling the air and atomization.

But practically it shows no difference.

After TB requires the use of a solenoid since vacuum is present.. and one more part to have an issue with(solenoid).

If your really concerned about your BOV.. spend the money and move its location. Easy. Money fixes that.

thank you very much for the information... i think i have decided to put the nozzle directly after the throttle body... cooling the charge a little and keeping knock at bay is all i'm worried about...

i'm gonna try it without the solenoid for now... as long as it doesn't suck the alchy tank dry during vacuum, i don't really care that a few drops find their way into the plenum...

its not that i'm worried about the bov... i just don't see the point in cooling an intake charge that is just going to get expelled out the bov between shifts...

track opens up 3/29 so i'll post back with results.

thanks
