how does anyone know the 87 octane doesnt contain ethanol?

Each state has it's own labeling requirements but in Nebraska anything containing over 1% or higher of alcohol in the gas has to be labeled.

most store here carry 10% ethanol some mom an pops store's sell 100 % gas its higher ... but small engines like weed eater lawn mowers an boat motors love it.

Bison I agree, however my question is more of which is better. I am in Canada and we have 92 octane with no ethanol and 94 with up to 10 % ethanol
We spend so much time and money on these cars and then we have a discussion on buying 87 octane because its cheaper?

LMAO

Not looking for what is cheaper only what is better;) If I was looking for cheaper I would sell the car and take up a none motorized hobby:D

.

More octane will reduce detonation tendency and is always better if cost is not a factor. More cylinder pressure can be used without detonation. Anything that allows an engine to run higher cylinder pressures without detonation will give an advantage.
