I just had the third GM wastegate solenoid failure since January. Has anybody found another solenoid that can be used as an alternative to the OEM solenoid?

I really would prefer to control the boost via the chip instead of connecting the wastegate actuator "tuner" style.

I couldn't tell you what part of the solenoid fails. I'm looking at one now and it doesn't look like it's designed to be easily taken apart for troubleshooting/repair.

I have the boost creep controlled pretty well via the duty cycle/RPM table in the chip and I run higher boost in 1st and 2nd gears.

When a solenoid fails, it failes in the "Off" position. The boost in first and second gear will drop to near the 3rd gear levels and boost creep starts showing up.

Replacing the solenoid cures the problem.

I'll take your "failed" solenoids. Still got them? If so I can send you an address to mail them to.
