It's funny...really.
Drive the car to Muncie for I would call my first official time drag racing. Had somebody riding with me first time down the track. Left at idle (on street tires) let out too soon...missed the first turn off, missed the second (and last) turn off...and found myself touring what was a corn field...yep, took the car right off the track. I figure, that it's really great there was no corn planted, or it woulda been MUCH worse...lol And Dwayne (riding with me) was such a great sport about it...poor guy...got in the car with a woman at the drag strip...the man has a pair, I can tell ya that! Ran a 16.60 that time...(I know, I know...but it was my FIRST time)
Anyway...second time I did much better! With Dwayne in the car, on the street tires, left at idle again...this time ran a 14.4 AND I even kept it on the track!!!!
I figure it wasn't too bad for pump gas, street tires, barely any boost and a first time lady driver. I'll be back though boys...gonna learn me how to drive a car!!! Albeit, it is kinda disappointing that the car is worthy of mid 10's...I'll get this though...promise!
Did want to say it was sure great to meet everyone!!!!!

You are not the first one to put it in the beach....

Next time.

Congrats !!!! Now you will be hooked and will not want to watch from the sidelines. Do I hear a new turbo car in your future?

BTW, the missed turn-off was your co-pilot's fault !!

Glad to hear you had FUN, that's the most important thing beside being SAFE while drag racing. Glad you took it easy the first time out. Before you know it, you'll be kicking some of the long time, local, Buick enthusiast's butt with the combo your running.

Let's us know when you head to the track again, ok.

Ronnie says...first things first, and the drag radials just simply must be put on the car. The man is a character in a half....good guy though.
I'll get to ORP sometime in the next couple weeks, and might bring the car to Osceola. I'll be at BG next year for sure...and will um, figure out how to REALLY drive this car before I make an appearance!!!

Keep racing you will get better each pass.

My 1st time down the track I took the old 65 GTO out of 4th Gear.
Those Drum Brakes did not want to work. A worker flagged me down ( he musta saw the scared look on my face) & said Never take it out of gear as it will help you stop.

I see you decided to go ahead and turn yourself in! :D

Congrats on your first outing, glad to see everything worked out!

Now it's time to start turning that thing up a little

Congrats! Now come to Cecil Co in MD on Oct 16 (Friday) for the test and tune where you should be able to drive in circles and get lots of practice, and where you have to drive to the end of the track to get to the return road so you can't mess up the drive back :-).

This thread is worthless without PIC's!!!!!

Someone has to have some pic's..... ;)

Congrats on your first adventure and like the others said, It will get much better and a lot more fun.. Glad to hear your okay...

The two main things are that you had fun and kept safe. You now see how addictive it can be. Now we need to get you on a road couse with the right car and then we'll never get you out of a car. LOL

Sorry for the Hi-jack but I have to ask

Now back to subject, Congrats on your 1st outting you're hooked for life.

You're a fckn idiot.

She did great..........car had 14.5 lbs of boost and pulled hard and clean. Once the drag radials are on, she will run low 12's right off the bat.........here's a couple of pics of her car.
