I installed a 6152e and I can't get the feed line to seal perfectly. I thought I had it sealed with blue loctite but now it is dripping again. I have the stock oil feed line and it is not cracked.

What are you guys using to seal it? I know I can go out and by a braided line but that is not what I want at the moment.

Thanks! Jason

I assume you mean the turbo end?

The stock oil feed line is steel. The fitting is brass. Both are flared - no sealant is required.

If you have a leak it's either because the line and/or fitting is damaged, and/or things aren't tight enough.

The fitting being brass is soft and when properly tightened will conform to the steel tubing, making a seal.

Like mentioned above, threads must be nicked. Purchase a new braided oil feed line instead of the stock style.

i have run teflon on the oil feed line for over 13 years now. i run telfon on all the TR i have ever worked on with no leaks. its just added insurance

Teflon works fine on NPT (pipe) fittings such as the one on that right angle adapter that goes into the turbo. Not the oil feed part.

Teflon is not used on flared pipe straight thread nuts.

Use a dab of neverseize around the tube and nut on exposed lines such as brake, tranny, and gas lines, that are out in the weather keeps corrosion from locking the nut to the pipe.

Strikeeagle is correct here. You could do what I did with my oil line feed at the engine block fitting and oil pressure gage line in that brass block...put some Permatex High Temperature Sealant, No. 592 A, on the threads. It works so far up at the turbo, but for how long, who knows? So far, fine. You can get this stuff at Adavance Auto, $3.18 + tax, here in Virginia. Comes in a long white tube. Does work great, but, as Strikeeagle says, line, fittings may be damaged, or things aren't tight enough. Check those fittings very closely! A perfectly tapered NPT pipe thread should seal without any sealant anyway...it's made to do that. But high temp sealant is just a little bit of extra insurance, the way I did it. I was in a paranoid "Jeez, I hope it doesn't start leaking" mode at the time. Use very, very little on the theads only, not on the flared tubing, and make sure both female and male threads are squeaky clean!
Thanks for reminding me, I have to go get some more of this sealant Friday. :D
