Unbolted it, took off the starter.. now how to get it out?wiggled it, jiggled it, told it a joke...didn't want to come out. Should I just clean up both block and pan surfaces and RTV the gasket into place? I heard I can change out the rear main seal, but guessing with pan off. SO .........got any tips?

Btw someone should do a write up of a easy how to.

You may need to rotate the crank if it gets hung op on it.
If I remember . . . you have to rotate it towards the DS side a bit. Don't quote me on this . . .
Also . . . if the motormounts are old and sagging, it will be a bit more difficult.

Mines a 20 bolt stock pan, I have to take the flywheel cover off and drop the crossover pipe to get my pan to wiggle out, it comes off pretty easy once you wiggle it and get the shelf inside off the oil pickup, then it moves around pretty easy, all I can say is just keep experimenting, the real fun starts when you put it back on .

I lifted the motor(took off my one and only motor mount bolt!!!!!!!!) I only had one bolt  (passenger side mount;)

Jacked up the car, unbolted the bolt, jacked up the motor very little.

I found out I have a 14 bolt pan....I forget this motor is ( i believe) a 84 T-type/GN. unless some 85 TR's had 14bolt pans.

Either way, I had to go around town looking for a silcone gasket or rubber atleast no luck. Anyone got the part # for a 14 bolt pan slicone or rubber?? coke/rubber mix will even do...

As for the rear main seal, where the hell is it? pics would help, I see nothing, I took off my "googles they do nothing."

part # always great to share.

Sorry don't have part#'s or pic's for ya, but I do have a link to the guide I used to do mine last year when I dropped the pan.

That is why you can't trust too many people working on these cars. Sometimes, you can't trust yourself.
It is well documented that some early 85's have the 14 bolt blocks.

I like/prefer the thick cork gasket from RJC.
