I am about to hook up my oil pressure gauge, and would like to keep the idiot light hooked up as well. So, I guess I am going to need a 1/4" NPT tee to make this happen. Question is where do I find such a thing?

Follow up question

I have an oil gauge I need to install and need some direction. Is the brass block above the oil filter the hook up location for the gauge? It appears that the turbo oil line is on the end and maybe the dummy sensor off the top of that block:confused: And that I could buy a T fitting to place between the brass block and turbo oil feed line for the gauge to attach too. Is this correct?

If you look above and to the left of the filter you will see a wiring harness. It is wedged in behind the lower radiator hose, and that is your oil pressure sending unit. I just unhooked the harness, removed the stock unit and replaced it with the new one. You really don't need the idiot light unless you just want it.

You can do a T off the turbo feed. However if you're running a turbo shield, you'll have to be careful of the clearance. I run a mechanical gauge off a T there.

Glad you mentioned the clearance issue. I think I have two options from the responses thus far: 1) replace the existing fitting with a new one, which would eliminate the dummy light 2) add a T fitting on the end of the existing--I just noticed today in an ATR catelog that there is a flexible replacement turbo feed...maybe that would work better. I'll have it apart there sometime as I'll be changing turbos.

idiot lights are for idiots.. just take out the stock piece and screw in the new sending unit. cake.

:D Yea, I watch gauges and scan tools fairly close, so I shouldn't need a dummy light:p . When you say a new sending unit, that would just be a new brass block with a fitting for the turbo feed and the new gauge, correct?

hmmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe when you get faster than 13.6 and you dont have time to look at the gauges you will understand.;)

TT,

You may want that "Idiot" light in there if your fuel pump relay craps out too. ;)

I just put the T up top at the turbos with copper line on my 2 cars.

Assuming a mechanical gauge here. :)

Yes, I have a mechanical gauge with the one small copper line and one electical white line. I went out and removed the fitting in the top of the turbo, and will find a T to fit up there. Oil feed line was a 7/16". Thanks
