I just wanted people to chime in here that 1. Still are running their stock short block (unrebuilt) or 2. Had one last a long time. Don't forget to post what oil your using! Oh yeah, in miles please.

just hit 200k last week. i just bought the car a couple of months ago from a guy who owned it since 88. i have all the reciepts for the car, i dont know what kind of oil he used but i have mobil 1 10-30 in it now with no new oil leaks and it still has the original valve springs, oil pump, and chain. i know its pretty scarey but they will be changed this winter so i can start modding it.

i cant touch your 200k, but i have 133k with over 100 track passes, and countless wot blasts on the street over the course of the 7 years i have owned it (101k miles)

mobile 1 synth its whole life.....valve springs is the only internal part changed

Mine was at 248k before I popped a headgasket in it. I don't think it even needs bearing. I could just replace the gaskets and go, but I just decided to stick another engine in it instead. I'd put headgaskets back on that motor and run it in a minute, without thinking about it.

It blows me away when I hear about these high mileage stock engines that just keep on running no matter what you throw at them . was the assembly and machine shop, engine components quality that high from GM when they rolled off the line in "86- "87 ??? I regret the day I sold my original short block . good luck trying to get a rebuild with that kind of "longevity" . :)

160k running high 12's. should be a lot faster but the torque converter is really holding me back (very bad orange stripe. soon to become a boat anchor)

it has a slight slight tick that might be nothing, or might be a rod, i don't know but i'm rebuilding it as soon as i can afford to.

almost 110k miles, lots of boost over the years, lots of racing on the streets...about 50 passes at the track mostly between 12.50's and 11.50's...doesn't use oil, doesn't smoke oil, decent compression (+130 psi on all cylinders) and still gets around 22-25 mpg on the highway...I won't ever touch my motor until something actually breaks or goes bad:)

543xxxKM and still going strong!!!! i have all the records to proove it, just using dino oil too....

84,000 miles on the silver limited. For the longest time i hardly drove it and only put 4,000 miles on it in 6 years.
i put 1,000 miles on it in the past 30 days driving it EVERY single day except the snowy days.
i only use 4 quarts of mobile non synthetic and a 8oz bottle of E.O.S. from the buick dealer- been using that setup on all my cars for 3 years. also break engines in with E.O.S. too. E.O.S. rises the Extreme Pressure rating in the oil that our cars require.
should have over 100,000 on it by this summer!

156K on my driver.

Whatever was on sale between Pennzoil and Valvoline, dino.

Now my turbo manuf. wants me to use synthetic, VERY painful. :p
