Nothing for sale here, just amazed at how much junk I've acquired over the years.

Nice stuff Gary. I was scratching my head wondering when you sold your car. Then I saw that nothing was for sale. BTW I'm first in line for the ignition modules. :D

Do you still have your bike?

If the truth be told something or somethings from minor to major in my household will have to be sold to survive.
I just don't know what. My '09 CTS-V 690 RWHP & 630 RWTQ lost the cap on the #7 intake rocker arm assy
holding about 29 roller bearings which are now somewhere in the inside of the LSA motor. The motor must be
pulled, totally disassembled part by part to locate the awol bearings, new oil pump & all new gaskets, reassembled, &
dropped back in the car. $1K for parts, $5K & 1 month minimal for labor. This after shelling out $2100 for brakes just
the day before. Not so good news for this broke person.
And I totally freak out when I think of getting rid of the Turbo-T that I have cherished for the last 12 years or so.
So something (guns, car, or parts) is going to have to go somewhere.

It does suck to sell things we love but things like cars and parts can always be replaced one day when things are better.

Good luck sir.

D

Gary I have always though of you as a smart man. I do believe that you will figure it out and maybe without selling your favorite toys.

As for finding the awol bearings : Why would you need to pull the heads? The bearings have no way into the combustion chamber. How could they get through the oil pick up screen? They shouldn't be in the oiling passages. Cross your fingers because you may find them all by dropping the oil pan without opening the engine any further. Possibly they are all either on top the head, in the oil pan, or in the oil drain back holes/passages from the head to the pan.

Many thanks for the suggestions, Clay, but that's how D3 wanted to play it.
D3 is the only shop around that plays with Caddies and that I trust.
And I've been to a few. At least 1 of the bearings is on top of the driver side
head and it did damage a valve stem. This also will include a new system
that doesn't utilize bearings.

I would suggest what item to get rid of, to maximize your long term spending ability. However, you already got rid of her years ago.:D

Sheeesh. You could always just drop a 109 in it. You have enough spare parts to build one or three. :D

The Caddy might go up for sale and I might just have to spend the rest of my days
daily driving the brick. I will probably live through this $6K kick in the arse, bit I
damn sure cannot afford another one. That damn turbo-T has owned my heart
for the last 12 years and has hung in there faithfully. Something to be said for that
alone.

I originally had intended on the parts and the T going together as a package
deal, but I am getting more and more attached to the T every time I get behind
the wheel. Stupid Buick needs front tires now, and there are not any more
performance tires made in 235-50-r16, so I have to check out BF Goodrich
Sports Comp 2 in 245-50-r16 and see if they will clear. I'm running Michelin
245-50-r16 now and they do rub once in a while but they have been great tire.

I've run 255/50 16s on the back and 245/50 16s on the front with NO PROBLEMS....other than the back ones go bald much quicker than the fronts. :D

Sorry to hear about the caddy, Gary. Doesn't sound cheap at all, and I know having a broken car IS something to lose sleep over for a car guy.

When you're ready to donate some of those parts, I could use about half of them for my rebuild of the entire car
