Brian Hofer just hooked me up with a sweet trans!! but I'm still deciding on the convertor.I want a lock up convertor that really effecient not lock.I have a te-44 so 11's where I will be.Any buddy with WCC with some MPH numbers?

thx mike

I just installed PTC from Dusty in a car.
Its wicked.
Car shifts at 5600 and drops to 4400
ANd spools a non bb 67Ptrim like mad.

Why don't you go with the same thing the other local guys are using ? L/U converter from TCS in Langley ? Give Steve Marshall a call and see what he says. Also you won't have any freight issues if it needs a restall.

don't mean to steal the thread, but Im in the market for converter as well and didn't know about tcs in Langley, I was leaning towards getting a Pat's converter but if I can get it locally I will. Im guessing from your comments that those who have them are happy with the product?? thanks

Steve

There are several guys who have run in the 10's with their l/u converters (myself included) with no failure issues.

They are doing 9/11 style l/u converters with or w/o billet covers. The guys that I know of that have them, are happy with them.

Mine is a 9" race locker, but they don't make that style anymore, only the 9/11 style.

I run a West Coast converter and am very pleased. They had great service and I have had no problems. It is a LU and I have been locking it at WOT at the track without any problem.

Otto,
What stall is the converter, and what mods are done to the motor?

Thank you, Brian

it is a 235" 210 flat tappet ported steel head car
6776 nonBB turbo,PTE stretch intercooler.

Honestly I did not check the stall out,
I will have the car back on thursday and will check
0 boost and full boost stall.

I did some datalogs though and it will drop from 5500 to 4400 on a shift!
And it spools that 6776 nonbb on the foot brake up to 15-18#s no problem at all.
This is a Non lockup steel stator spragless convertor.
this is not a cheap convertor. But you get what you pay for.

Dusty knows the exact specs to do an identical build
