Just left dennys in the gn and it seems that the fuel pump just gave out without warning! I turn the key forward and i used to hear the pump, now i dont. I was planning on changing it but not like this, lol. Waiting for triple a. This sucks.

You have a hot wire kit?

check the fuse. If it's blown it could be due to the oil psi switch harness shorting out. These have a tendency to fall apart and arc off the timing cover

Well, i made it home. Question, i do have a racetronix hotwire kit. I checked the wiring at the back with a test light. I am getting power to the racetronix relay(the one coming from the alternator), but i get no power coming out of it. There are two smaller wires going to the connector that leads to the pump, a red one and a gray one. The purple one comes from a separate connector. I get no power at the smaller red one coming out of the relay and nothing from the gray. I have my wife turn the key forward and nothing. I then check the purple wire coming from the separate connector and that lights up but very dim. Is the relay bad?

theres two connectors taped to the harness behind alternator /ac lines
one is for tachometer (single wire ) the other is for fuel prime (two wires into the connector)
the wire to the hood lamp will plug into it

The wire is purple, and you can use a test light to check the pump. Clip on the alternator post, probe the wire

Ok, i see them now. The only one that the hood lamp will fit into is the one with a single wire. When i hook it up to the hood lamp, i hear a click but the pump does not turn on

if so then pump is kaput or relay is no good

Ok, scratch that, with the hood lamp hooked up, i get power to the pump and it runs. That means that the racetronix relay took a crap right?

By me using the pump prime wire and the pump turning on and working, what does that mean other than knowing that the pump works? What parts did i bypass? Did i bypass a relay? Sorry for the trouble guys, i am trying to learn and i appreciate your patience. Thank you in advance.

My car is rigged up, so I have extra relays that I could swap out. Do you have one that will fit the socket?
If so try it in place of the racetronix

i think i remember having to hook up a ground wire with my racetronix kit.. it clipped to the edge of the gas tank with a clip that dug into the metal of the tank for a good connection... is that wire hooked up?
