So I ran to the store before going into work today. On the way I passed this exhaust shop that had a nice looking GN parked outside. Got todays fix of Mountain Dew and stopped at this shop to check out the GN. What I found was the car unlocked with the keys in the ignition parked facing the street, just waiting to be driven off!!!!!!!!! I was just looking around at the paint and wheels before I noticed the keys, then I looked through the the passenger side window and noticed the drivers door unlocked. I stuck around for awhile to snap a few pics and check out the car. I did walk into the shop and tell the owner he needed to lock the "Grand National" before it gets stolen.

Bottom line...make sure you can trust people you leave these cars with. I don't think I would let my GN leave my site if I had to take it to a shop.

Maybe it doesn't run. That's why it's at the shop? It looks clean either way and I'd hate to see it stolen.

Scary, some crackhead or punk off the street could've made off with a very nice ride. I recently had a freakout when my revolver that I had in the car went missing. I started to think the kid at the shop that test drove it to make sure the car was properly aligned stole it but it turns out the revolver was accidentally left at my grandparent's house where I was shooting with my uncle. I hate to take my car to shop and leave it. Every time I go I either sit out in the lobby where I can clearly see the car or stand in the back and watch them work on it. Never can trust people with your stuff these days, especially when there is money in the car. By the way, next time please rotate the photos.

I am guessing it ran. Very clean car in a dusty area of town. It looks to have a 40 series flowmaster in place of the cat and straight pipes all the way back. That'ts why it was at the exhaust shop.

Sorry about the pic rotation. I got to work and one of the remote sites I manage had issues with connectivity. Hence my spelling of the word "site" in my post also. Had a few other things on mind...

That looks like a very nice GN sitting there to have the keys left in it. Thats just an invitation for some crooks to score a nice ride. Maybe it doesn't run??

Every insurance company has their own policies, but Im thinking if the keys are left in the car and its stolen they might not cover that!

Some people just don't think. I knew a guy who parked his car out in front of his house, left the door opened, the car running, his brief case IN it, and went inside and fell asleep on the couch.. Somehow the car was never stolen. :p

Looks like a car that was for sale on here not too long ago.

You guys had me all worried about that car thinking thats the same one for sale. They are not one in the same. The one for sale is in Ill. I know because Im heading up there tommorow to inspect it and buy it for a friend. Hes just had surgery and cant do it himself. Same wheels, different interior items.

Maybe the owner will see this, I would like to know about that if it was my car because I would be up there raising hell if they left my car like that.

Thats asking for trouble,
Joshua

It was at this place called Proctors in Harrodsburg, KY. I am just getting used to the area, I think I may have seen that GN out on the road a few times around here before.

I actually had exhaust done on one of my cars there about twelve years ago. Cash only type deals. Not sure if the guy who did my setup is still there but, he just looked at my car on a lift and bent the pipes perfectly to fit.

I honestly wanted to take the keys to the guy in the shop and lock the doors on the car. It really wasn't my place to do that though.

Dammm,I am always in the wrong place at the wrong time.....whats the address again......

It's possible that the car has an ass load of anti theft stuff on it and the keys are in it so someone wouldn't damage the doors/column trying to steal it. I've heard of people doing this before. Just a thought. But you're probably right. The shop backed it out and left 'em hangin'.

BAIT CAR!?!

Maybe not. There is a reason the cops use Honda Civics when they do that type of a sting.

*Bait Cars* in Kentucky are a little different than most other parts of the country. It would need a back seat full of food stamps and a trunk full of cigarettes for the ultimate bait car here.

On top of leaving the keys in the car, you were walking around it taking pics with your phone. You could have been a thief scoping the car and they said nothing.

Nobody was around, not a single person said hey,,,,what are you doing. A mischievous person would have unplugged his hot wire kit and left a note on it that it could have been worse than a disabled fuel pump.

A quick right and left would have put this thing on one of Ky's major highways that would get it out of the area quick. Also lots of country roads that have very little traffic to be spotted on.

Looks like there is another GN in the parking lot? That car looks very familiar. I have seen pics of it somewhere?
