$FMV$ of a used turbo???

What would you all say is a fair price for a TA-60 with either a .63 or .82 PT&E exhaust housing (my choice)?? This turbo has about 2500-3000 fully synthetic oil miles, changed at way too anal intervals. It's never had blown motor oil go through it, and has been well cared for. I've been quoted a price, but am trying to make sure it's a fair deal before it's too late. I've been out of the turbo market for too long and am not hip to pricing anymore. BTW, this would be a buddy deal.... TIA

With a stock converter I would go with the .63A/R
For pricing, see what the cheapest you can get one new for, then figure 1/2 to 2/3 of that price would be fair IF the turbo is good.

From a buddy, it would all depend on how good and how many much you have been doing to help him out.

Gary

I sold my 61 last year to a friend for $500,had many more miles on it than that.

I think you can get a rebuilt one for $700 through John Craig at limit engineering. That's all we ever buy is rebuilds.

I would go up to $550,But get ahold of JC first to check on that price.

Lets see. A new 60 with choice of housing, new actuator, clip, gaskets runs ~$775.00. Knock off $300.00 for any rebuild issues that may arise. If you can get it for $450-$475 you are covered even if it takes a dump on you. My .002

If the price is higher than mentioned above and you still want it, tell the person you will buy it if you can have it checked out first. Then you are 100% sure what you are getting :D Frank
